REED Finance are delighted to be working exclusively with a diverse 30-year-old SME near Ascot to recruit a permanent Financial Controller

Based in a lovely setting near Ascot this SME business has a turnover around £2.5m and is a professional services and consultancy organisation.

This is a Financial Controller role with 1 person to support that requires someone to be qualified and have experience across all areas of finance, work autonomously and be part of the senior management team.

  • Overall responsibility for financial statements, ledgers and accounts
  • Year end: yearend reconciliation, returns and statutory accounts; liaison with auditors
  • Working capital and cash flow management, investments and banking
  • Analysis of, planning and reporting on financial position
  • Tax & VAT management, R&D Tax credit claim, statutory returns, compliance
  • Annual budgets and forecasting; development, monitoring and reporting
  • Management of one staff member with responsibility for purchase ledger
  • Generating invoices (UK & International) with application of appropriate VAT
  • Preparation of monthly management forecasts and other info to CEO
  • Monitoring of budgets and variances
  • Monitoring and review of projects; hours planning and costs
  • Submission of relevant statutory information
  • Preparation of board meeting papers and presentation of financial reports at board.
  • Management of payroll: calculation of payroll data, posting of data and application on payroll system, submission of data; payroll queries
  • Management of associated payroll issues: calculation and submission of pension, NI
  • Trustee of Defined Benefit Pension Scheme

To be considered for this role you will be a qualified accountant, with broad experience in finance and comfortable working a small SME setting. Experience with Navision, construction/consultancy, company secretarial and pensions would be an advantage

The salary available is between £60-70k plus pension, family bupa, life cover and parking
