Senior Finance Manager - Commercial Strategy & Household Business Partner

PROFILE

Our client is looking for commercial, smart thinkers with extraordinary drive, passion and curiosity to join us for the next step of their remarkable journey. This Senior Finance Manager role will be supporting two key areas of their Grocery business:

• The commercial strategy team - supporting decision making around pricing and promotions, getting the most from our onsite media and ensuring we have a robust cost price improvement process
• The household category - supporting the buying team to make better commercial decisions

THE ROLE

Support the Head of Commercial Strategy in key decision making, this will include;

• The strategic principles in our clients pricing and promotional strategy.
• Maximise revenues from onsite media and move the business to be best in class in this space.
• Build strong data-led processes to manage cost price increases - ensuring they are always paying fair value and understand the underlying factors driving any changes in price.
• Support the category review process - help build strong templates and processes to ensure all ranges stand up commercially, with the customer at heart.

Be the trusted business partner for the household category team, helping them to grow profitably and;

• Support the team with tactical price, promotion and buying decisions on a daily basis.
• Turn data into insight and help make the categories more profitable.
• Support in annual business plans with suppliers to ensure the strong commercial agreements.
• Be the main point of contact for the senior buyers for ad hoc queries, supporting beyond finance.
• Provide external benchmarks in the performance.
• Ensure weekly performance is understood from a sales and margin perspective.
• Run and manage the rolling forecast process for your category.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Qualified accountant (5 or more years qualified)
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Strong academics
• Strong Excel skills
• Highly numerate and analytical with a keen eye for detail that is deadline focused and goal oriented
• Enthusiastic to learn
