Job Summary
The Assistant Manager Payroll Accountant is responsible for managing the gross payroll reconciliations for the UK and allocation of charges across the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage the gross payroll reconciliations for the UK payrolls
* Prepare and process all payroll related accounting entries in the General Ledger
* Prepare reconciliations for loan adjustments and payment deductions
* Review and analyse the General Ledger to ensure that payroll transactions are accurate
* Work closely with Payroll team to ensure all information is obtained on a timely basis to help determine correct accounting
* Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll data
* Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
* Drive process improvement initiatives to ensure best practice
* Accurate and timely completion of required month-end payroll reconciliations.
* The effective performance of key relevant internal controls
* Preparation and submission of payroll reports and other MI (as requested) for the business.

Technical Competencies required

* Basic knowledge of professional accounting standards
* Basic knowledge of transactional accounting and close processes
* Basic knowledge of IT systems

* Good knowledge of IT systems (Oracle Cloud)
