This individual is an indirect tax specialist and has good knowledge of APAC indirect tax requirements. Overall, working closely with global Indirect Tax team, Country Finance and Finance Shared Service Center, this role will be responsible to ensure Zebra group’s indirect tax goals are met for APAC region.

Responsibilities:


Indirect tax compliance

  • Manage indirect tax compliance process and manage external/internal tax return preparer in APAC
  • Responsible for the completeness and accuracy of the indirect tax filings in the region, including reviewing the tax returns and ensuring the timely filing of tax returns.
  • Work with finance team to ensure all indirect tax payments/refunds are paid/received in a timely manner.
  • Manage indirect tax accounting position, including reviewing the month-end indirect tax accounts reconciliation.
  • Review and improve the indirect tax compliance processes and documentation.
  • Identify indirect tax risks and opportunities. Bring innovations and improvements to indirect tax compliance and control process to achieve higher efficiency and minimize tax leakage. Streamline compliance process by improving data quality and process automation.
Indirect tax consulting & tax technology
  • Provide ad hoc indirect tax advisory to internal stakeholders and support indirect tax planning and business projects.
  • Provide tax audit support, including data analysis.
  • Work with IT and system finance team to keep indirect tax technology up-to-date with the latest local tax regulation changes.
  • Propose changes of Indirect Tax technology to be ready for new business opportunities.
  • Work with global indirect tax team to align Zebra group’s indirect tax strategies and implement them in the region.
  • Monitor the developments of indirect tax policies in the region. Analyze current and proposed indirect tax policy changes, evaluate impacts, develop and execute plans accordingly.
  • About Yourself
  • You should be an Indirect Tax specialist who thrives working in a cross-functional team with multiple working capability with positive working demeanor.

Qualifications
  • A University degree in Finance, Tax, Law or related field. Recognized professional tax qualification is desirable.
  • At least 6 years of indirect tax experience, including at least 4 years with Big4 accounting firm.
  • IT skills: advance Excel is a must; Oracle EBTax, SQL, MS Power Apps/Automate is advantage.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and proficiency in English.
  • Results oriented, quick learner with a positive ''can do'' attitude and solid professionalism.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and across all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand processes and systems.
  • Able to manage workloads independently to strict deadlines and flexible with changes in requirements. Ability to deal with ambiguity and manage changing priorities.
