A leading London Market Insurer is looking for an experienced Head of Tax to join the team. This is a broad and varied tax role within the finance department of an international business and is responsible for leading and managing all global tax matters for the UK Group operations. The position will including all aspects of direct and indirect taxation, such as tax planning, tax due diligence, strategic project tax analysis, tax compliance, tax reporting, transfer pricing, tax cash flow forecasts and tax advisory support to the business amongst others. The position will report to the Group CFO and the current Tax Manager will report directly in to this the role.The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a non-life insurance business and will be a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CTA). You will also need:
- A good understanding of international tax principles and practices
- Experience of UK corporation tax, deferred tax and VAT calculations and rules
- Exposure to the Lloyd's / general insurance sector as a tax / finance specialist
- Exposure to assessment and implementation of controls and procedures
- Exposure to reporting activities to senior management committees
- Ability to explain complex tax technical matters to non-specialists
