My client, a leading player in the world of e-commerce and technology, is looking to hire a Head of Commercial Finance to join their stunning head office in the heart of Liverpool.
Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Commercial Finance will be a vital figure in driving forward future growth and strategy of this highly successful business. The Head of Commercial Finance will act as the lead Business Partner in providing strategic insight and commercial analysis to the senior leadership team.
In addition, the Head of Commercial Finance will lead a substantial team, so previous team leadership is essential. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in working with senior level stakeholders, and be able to clearly demonstrate their commercial mindset. This is a brand new position, so there is plenty of opportunity to shape the position, whilst also aligning with the strong sense of company values.
Key responsibilities include:
Work with the CFO to develop a vision and strategic plan to guide the Group.
Provide strategic insights and commercial financial support to the decision-making process.
Lead and guide the Commercial Finance team.
Work with the CFO to develop and deliver a financial plan which incorporates goals and objectives that deliver the agreed strategic plan.
Take an instrumental role in the new product development process.
Oversee the financial planning and evaluation of the Group's products and services.
Assess and advise senior leadership on product and services contributions to profitability and alignment to the Board's priorities.
Work closely with IT on the improvement of finance processes/initiatives/projects
Prepare a comprehensive annual Budget for Board approval. Ensure that the Group operates a robust budgeting process.
Lead and develop the Commercial Finance team.
Create and maintain a working environment consistent with Company values.
Identify and evaluate risks to the Commercial Finance Team.
The ideal candidate will be:
Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or overseas equivalent)
Significant years post qualification experience in a relevant industry (E-commerce, retail, tech, FS)
Proven business partnering ability at senior leadership level
Prior experience in leading a team
An understanding of financial management within a listed environment
