Page Group are working with a leading Plc in the Transport sector to recruit a Shared Service Centre Financial Controller role for their Glasgow based operation.

A global Plc in the Transport sector with a sizeable presence in Glasgow.
Description
The Shared Service Centre Financial Controller will have the following responsibilities:
- Driving the maintenance and implementation of the SSC accounting maturity in reporting and improving governance.
- Lead the finance team to deliver monthly preparation and review of performance dashboards (showing actual performance against target) and identify necessary actions to resolve areas of under-performance.
- Preparation of the SSC budgeting and quarterly updates
- Responsible for all finance activities in SSC and driving business owners in all SSC functions to deliver the best financial result for their department.
- Key contact at SSC for all financial audits
- Oversee integration activities for new businesses in line with the agreed integration plan.
- Deliver the Group strategy in the SSC Finance function.
- Responsible for ensuring Operating companies are compliant with Group policies.
- Ownership for control risks and driving the process improvement to mitigate against this.
- Implement process changes and improvements which have been approved by the programme board.
- Ensure all process documents are up-to-date and readily available and that staff are aware of the key processes and how they function.
- Sit on the SSC programme board and be an effective contributor to processes across SSC.
- Work closely with the Group Finance to improve and develop financial systems across SSC
- Ensure that the team deliver an excellent service by providing accurate and timely reporting to the local Opcos, group and SSC leadership team.
- Ensure all statutory and regulatory deadlines are met.
- Ensure that the Group policies, controls and contractual SLA's are being adhered to and followed.
- Review of SSC contracts with procurement to ensure best value for money is achieved.
- Design and embed appropriate strategies and goals for the SSC Finance.
- Collaborate with group and Opcos to identify value growth opportunities.
- Resolve escalated operational issues.
Profile
The successful candidate will be a qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA). They will either have a strong audit background, preferably within a Big 4 environment, or will have extensive experience within a Shared Service Centre environment.
Job Offer
The Shared Service Centre Financial Controller will be offered a competitive salary up to £65,000 DOE, plus a market leading benefits package.
