Your new company
A well-established public sector organisation based in Burnley, are seeking a Part-Qualified Senior Accountant to join their team on a permanent and full time basis. Your new role
As a Senior Accountant within the Finance Team, you will provide an efficient and effective finance services for both internal and external customers of the Group. Your role will involve managing a small and busy team of 3 whilst overseeing the cashbook, treasury management, credit control, credit and debit card and petty cash systems.
You will produce the quarterly financial returns, whilst conducting reports for Group regarding treasury performance, ensuring that the requirements of the policy and strategy are met and reported as required. Your role will also involve conducting all control account reconciliations, ensuring all discrepancies are investigated and resolved and that financial controls are in place whilst monitoring and updating Open Accounts system.
As a member of the Corporate team, you will attend regular meetings with the wider business, preparing and writing reports. Whilst conducting your role, you will be expected to demonstrate high levels of motivation and employee engagement, supporting your team in their development.
This is a full time role, with flexible working hours Monday to Friday.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for this position, you will have worked in a similar role previously with substantial accountancy management experience, ideally within a public sector organisation. You should possess knowledge of cash management, credit control and VAT alongside excellent IT skills, preferably with experience of Open Accounts. As a manager, you should be able to deliver high levels of staff engagement and motivation and possess an understand of business planning.
