Technology Risk Director, Vice President Location: Kraków
Who we are looking for:
Interested in engaging with thought leaders in Technology Risk driving innovation and transformation at a large financial services organization? The Technology Risk Management team engages with global IT programs to assess risk at the outset and drive the integration of risk reduction throughout the program lifecycle leveraging best practices to drive automation, consistency and quality. Our focus is Regulatory Compliance, Risk and Control for all Technology Risks as part of the corporate First Line of Defence. Our mission is to ensure that Technology Risk is well understood, adequately prioritised, and effectively managed.

What you will be responsible for:
  • Manage local Technology Risk management team and partner with global risk partners in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd line of defence
  • Oversee and quality assure the planning and execution of formal risk reviews and assessments of core IT control capabilities within the global Technology organisation
  • Oversee and quality assure the validation of audit and residual risk issue remediation initiatives, assessment of coverage and control design of technology solutions to quantify risk reduction with effective plans and correct priority of scope
  • Provide thought leadership and guidance of Technology Risk across the organisation, ensuring inherent risk is adequately assessed, appropriate control investment decisions are made, and residual risk measurement and remediation governance are aligned to the firm's risk appetite and strategic objectives
  • Provide expertise and leadership in driving innovation in the Technology Risk Management organisation spanning from emerging & transformation risk to read-across assessments
  • Identify improvement opportunities to support the Technology Risk strategy's successful implementation
  • Drive organisational focus, facilitate discussion to address conflicting points of view, and drive decision making on implementation of sound IT risk management principles, controls and practices
  • Collaborate with the Business and functional risk managers across the globe to ensure the effective implementation of sound risk management processes and best practices
  • Participate in global and regional governance committees.


This role requires the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology, IT Security, Risk Management, or a related field; Master's degree a plus
  • A minimum of 15 years Financial Services experience in Technology Risk, IT Audit, or IT Assurance
  • Proven leadership experience in the oversight and execution of control or issue assurance, and the assessment of inherent, transformational, read-across, and residual risks; Experience as a lead IT auditor or controller a plus
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, and recent people management experience
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to deal with uncertainty and organisational flux in an effective manner
  • Ability to drive change through collaboration and influence
  • Ability to manage competing priorities effectively and efficiently
  • Ability to comfortably interact & communicate with all levels of the organization including senior executive management
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Aptitude for learning new and complex environments, processes, and technologies
  • Knowledge and practical application of risk analysis and assessment methodologies, standards, and best practices such as COBIT and NIST; Knowledge of Cloud regulation and cloud security frameworks a plus
  • Professional designation a plus (e.g. CISA, CISM, CISSP, CRISC)
  • Project management experience and designation a plus (i.e. PMP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
