Our Role

We are currently seeking a Regional Controller to join our finance team serving our Asia Pacific business to be based in our Petaling Jaya office. Reporting to the VP Finance APAC, this role will partner with a regional group of Asia Pacific operations and finance team reviewing operational performance, providing decision support for capital expenditure as well as taking on responsibility for operational planning.

A true business partner role, the role will support senior operational, commercial and financial management, influencing operational decision making and constructively challenge the business based on analysis of data and expert insight of operations cost and revenue structures, evolution and trends, to facilitate optimal operational outcomes.

Key Responsibilities Include;
  • Prepare monthly reports on financial and operating performance of plants within the region.
  • Proactive review of operational and financial results of plants; regular meetings with Plant Managers, Regional Operations Directors and their teams to explain and interpret results, investigate and explain variances to budgets and forecasts.
  • Ensure Plant scorecards are properly maintained and used.Ensure KPI targets are reasonable and updated as appropriate.
  • Support the operations data entry system (ODE) ensuring timely and accurate data entry, resolving errors and problems and enhancing the system as required.
  • Support analysis of proposed capital and strategic projects including review of capital expenditure proposals and NPV analysis.Assist in the preparation of "post-audit" reviews of capital projects.
  • As the financial partner, develop and leverage a deep understanding of the cost structure of our products, the sales and product mix, and how production & sales relationships impact plant profitability.
  • Ensure consistent application of corporate accounting policies and procedures.
  • Assist with property management including permits, royalty payments including compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • The successful candidate has qualifications in Accounting or Business, alongside a relevant CPA, CA, CIMA or other related qualification. Cost and management accounting experience, preferably within the mining, manufacturing or related industries, and some working knowledge or familiarity with JD Edwards, is desirable.
