Responsible for the day to day credit control activities for domestic services such as water, electricity, DUoS charges, hot water, gas, heating, cooling, solar and shipping water. The role covers all aspects of debt recovery service functions which support the Utilities Businesses such as first line telephone response, customer correspondence, Direct Debit, card payments, debt letter process and disconnections. The role is also required to assist in providing back up facility for all billing functions across the Utilities portfolio.PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESThis role will have a core focus on the Business to Consumer marketResponsible for the domestic credit control activities for all services across the portfolioFirst line telephony response from customersHandling day to day credit control enquiries such as customer correspondence, Direct Debit applications, disconnections, copy invoices and debt recovery reminder lettersIdentify and prepare accounts to be passed to external Debt Collection AgenciesMaintain and improve current processes to offer enhanced credit control services to customers and help improve internal procedures to assist in achieving set objectivesAd hoc dutiesKNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIREDExcellent understanding of credit control best practices and ability to deliver a variety of approaches to meet both customer and business needsGood core IT skills inclusive of knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel (Pivot Tables, V-LookUp) and mail merge facilities.Excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to respond to all credit control queries across the portfolio of sites in an efficient and effective mannerGood understanding of legal practices in relation to credit control i.e. GDPR, Financial Hardship, Disconnection PoliciesGood understanding of all Utility services and contract terms and conditionsExcellent team workerProactively builds on-going relationships with internal and external stakeholdersAbility to adapt as priorities/demands change and initiates actionKEY ATTRIBUTESFlexible and professional approachGood communicator who can provide clear and articulated responses to customers in all situationsProactively builds on-going relationships with internal and external stakeholdersGood team workerEvaluates alternative solutionsAbility to adapt as priorities/demands change and initiates actionTakes initiative to sort problems that may not have been seen before
