Our client is a New Zealand manufacturer with overseas presence. They are looking to grow their finance function and appoint a cost and project accountant.

The role:
Provide insight and reporting on manufacturing costs for forecasting and performance analysis. Determine product absorption rates through investigating variances and provide recommendations to the business.

Responsibilities:

• Provide accurate and meaningful financial information to support the business.
• Preparation and maintenance of the standard costing study to determine product absorption rates
• Investigation of variances
• Analysis and recommendations regarding inventory holdings
• Work on other accounting projects for the business on an ongoing basis

Experience required:

• Tertiary qualification in Accounting
• Cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment highly desirable
• Excellent Excel skills and experience in BI reporting
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent time management/organisational/project skills.
• Proven ability to work well under pressure and maintain confidentiality.
