Now Careers are recruiting exclusively for an SME manufacturing company situated on the outskirts of Cardiff. They are seeking an experienced credit controller to come in and join them on a permanent capacity. They are currently re-shaping the finance function, so when we come out of this crisis they are in a position to grow from strength to strength. These are exciting times to be joining the organisation and the successful candidate will work and report into the Financial Director on a day to day basis.

You will play an integral part in shaping the business and managing the accounts receivables function. Systems will play an integral part of this role, so it is vital you possesses strong good all-round IT skills.

Key responsibilities will include:


• Chasing clients daily either via telephone or email


• Processing and generating reminder letters and monthly statements


• Producing Aged Debt Analysis for the senior management team


• Reporting daily to management regarding cash due in and when


• Prepare for weekly debt meetings with the senior management team


• Dealing with internal queries about payment


• Working to strict monthly and annually collection targets


• Setting up and credit checking new customer accounts


• Reconciliation of the ledger


• Processing the sales ledger and posting payments to the system


• Producing a weekly forecast of the receipts


• Ad hoc tasks as and when required by FD

Person specification:


• Previous credit control experience essential


• Excellent numeric and literacy skills


• Excellent knowledge of Excel - intermediate level essential


• Excellent accuracy with figures and calculations


• Friendly and polite telephone manner


• Calmness under pressure with an organised and methodical approach


• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure

The successful candidate will work as part of a close knit finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take control of the role and shape it in order to make the credit control process more efficient and effective. Hours are Monday - Friday 8.00am - 4.30pm (1/2 lunch) on-site parking is available and my client offers a friendly working environment. 22 days annual leave and statutory pension scheme. The role will be office based and all social distancing measures will be adhered to and enforced.
