Group Finance Controller, up to £100,000 Base + Benefits, Amazing High Growth Technology Company, Hampshire Area (Agile working involved)
Group Finance Controller Role Purpose:
This high growth multi-country technology led organisation is looking to hire a Group Financial Controller into the business. The role is both a strategic and operational one so it will have a good balance of "rolling your sleeves up" and managing the finance team whilst strategically supporting senior level stakeholders to help them continue the strong business growth
Reporting directly to the CFO this position will also include managing a team of 13 (multi country) so the successful candidate is expected to lead by example as well as ensure the team are operating at a successful & sufficient level.
Typical duties will include Multi Country Financial Control, this will include: financial planning budgeting, FP&A, costing, cash collection & billing, banking, shareholder funding and debt reporting, financial analysis, performance Vs Budget, Reporting, and long range forecasting for the Company. Partnering with the business to providing subject matter expertise and direction on financial and accounting issues.
Principal Accountabilities:
Financial control and reporting ('One version of the truth')
Working with the UK & Global processing teams to ensure accurate processing of transactions
Commercial support to the business
Supporting the budgeting and forecasting process
Day-to-day management of local accountants and banking relationships as appropriate
All local statutory reporting requirements, including tax
Maintenance of the general and subsidiary ledgers
Review / performance and approval of reconciliations between the general ledger and sub-ledgers, including ensuring that all reconciling items are investigated and resolved on a timely basis
Review of the appropriateness of outsourcing local activities vs. processing transactions in-house
Local delegation of authority matrix, including banking authority levels
Working with local payroll providers as appropriate and the company HR team, this includes the review and sign off of the monthly payrolls.
Working with the legal team, responsibility for the formation of new legal entities where appropriate and the associated appointment of local advisors and set-up of local banking facilities as required
Management of the local entity cash balances, which will include maintenance of cash flow forecasts and review of the actual flows against forecast and liaising with customers as appropriate.
Creation, implementation and maintenance of an appropriate delegation of authority matrix for group banking and Treasury management
Responsibility for managing funding requests to group on a timely basis
Responsibility for the group statutory audit, the production of the group statutory accounts and the coordination of all local reporting requirements, including tax and informational filings.
Responsibility for the monthly close process and the production of monthly management accounts, including:
Production of monthly close files for each entity
The monthly management accounts for the entities, including commentary on budget to actual variances and changes from prior periods
Ideal Experience Needed:
Graduate degree or equivalent preferred - in Finance, Accounting or Financial Management i.e. ACA, ACCA etc or other professional financial certification preferred.
Big 4 experience a definite advantage
Previous Finance Controller or Finance Director experience gained within a multi country organisation
Experience of working within a PE (Private Equity) backed company where employees have share options and advantage
Technology industry experience an advantage
Good Problem solving experience
Personable and able to lead by example
Team management experience
Able to push back and make strong recommendations to the CFO
Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong leadership
