Finance Business Partner | 9-12 month FTC | Nottingham | £50,000 FTE

Macildowie are currently working with a market leading, growing business based in Nottingham, with global reach. They are consistently investing in their organisation and they are now seeking a high calibre Finance Business Partnerwith a strong revenue and project accounting background to join their team and work specifically with regional teams in APAC and USA on critical projects.

You will establish yourself as a 'co-pilot', along with Project Leaders, in steering a set of projects to their targeted financial goals (revenue, profitability, cash flow, etc.). You will apply a deep understanding of the project economics and profitability drivers.

So what is the role?

  • Build partnerships and maintain strong relationships with the senior non-finance team and regional finance and operations teams
  • Provide accurate, transparent, and timely financial analysis to support project leadership in decision making processes
  • Clearly articulate financial implications of business decisions / choices, and provide retrospective analysis as well as drive forward looking actions
  • Facilitate monthly project revenue cycle and drive the analysis requirements, including a review of forecast, unit prices, and revenue recognition
  • Provide updates on financial status for assigned projects and create information in response to any client financial reporting needs
  • Leverage understanding of the business context to synthesize financial and operational data into meaningful business insights that highlight performance, risk, and opportunities
  • Put steps in place with project teams to ensure pass-thrus are managed within project budgets
  • Maintain, produce and communicate a relevant and impactful set of project and operational metrics designed to support evaluation of financial performance
  • Review will focus on revenue forecast, labor and margin, billing status, assumptions, and special contract items. Your work should capture potential improvement opportunities and actions to be taken

So who are you?

  • You will need to be fully qualified(CIMA/ACCA/ACA)
  • You will need to have experience working in a project environment and ideally have revenue recognition experience
  • You'll be used to working in a fast paced business and you will thrive on making decisions, improvements to both processes and team capabilities
  • Previous Finance Business Partnering experience with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • This business has a legacy system that needs careful management, so a good technical background would be advantageous
  • Ability to work with and model using large datasets / Advanced Excel / Powerpoint
  • You'll love taking the initiative and at times, being autonomous. You'll be solutions focused and see opportunity rather than issues
  • Experienced in supporting and delivering on Change and Business Growth projects
  • Experience of working through difficult situations and improving business capability
  • Practical, hands on experience of managing financial controls of a £multi-million business
  • Able to influence and deliver positive change in the organisation with both internal and external stakeholders
