Summary of Role
Centrally manage tax and compliance activities for the Organization’s regional offices spanning 20+ countries, which support and advance the membership and educational activities undertaken by CIMA (UK), AICPA (US) and the Association (US). Partner actively with internal business partners and external consultants given the dynamic and evolving activities under the Association umbrella.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Liaise with regional Finance staff and business owners to identify compliance activities underway and work to transition those functions under this role; noting this will be a staged progression with an initial focus on the Asia Pacific region
- Partner with the Senior Manager to review and assess regional compliance activities, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness
- Analyse and monitor systems and processes for accurate tax calculations and reporting
- Collaborate with the Senior Manager on regional activities impacting the compliance requirements of the UK and US entities
- Responsible for the preparation of indirect tax filings
- Form alliances with regional staff to identify and assess business activities giving rise to new compliance requirements
- Partner with outside tax advisors and other finance leaders to assess compliance obligations
- Assist with compliance audits and notices
- Research and document conclusions on compliance issues, advising other departments within the organization as necessary
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required
- Indirect tax experience
- Ability to interpret and apply tax regulations and guidance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word
- Strong initiative and drive to work in a dynamic and changing environment
- Must be a team-oriented individual with the ability to lead projects
- Excellent communication skills including English written skills
Required Experience, Qualifications & Education
- 5-7 years of relevant experience
- 3-5 years of indirect tax experience
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Education
- International tax experience
- Transfer pricing experience
- Knowledge of Oracle
