Faculty / Directorate
The Finance Directorate is a central support department within the university. We have staff based within faculties & directorates across campus. The role will be part of the Research Finance team within the Corporate Finance function.
Role
The Project Finance team are split into three sub teams: one focusing on pre-award research activity, one on post award research activity and the third on the university's enterprise activity.
As a Project Finance Officer (Research), you will be responsible for providing a post award financial management service to stakeholders in faculties in managing awarded projects and ensuring they are compliant with the contractual agreements of the grant. The role will also include line management responsibility for the Project Finance Assistants within the post award team. There is an expectation that the successful post-holder will have a good knowledge of FEC and be able to offer some support for the pre-award team where necessary.
Ideal Candidate
To be successful, you will be able to manage a team and provide an excellent customer service experience to stakeholders. You will need to be able to evidence completing returns with funding bodies, and to ensure they are compliant, timely and accurate. It is essential for you to have experience in accounting and IT software products.
