About The Role

As our Commercial Payments Clerk you`ll communicate and work with connections planning team for offsite Traffic Management payment requirements. You`ll make payments to local authorities via Credit Card or arrange PO or BACS Payment. Alongside you`ll update all systems with payment details as required.

Key accountabilities of the Commercial Payments Clerk will include:


• Receiving Traffic Management requests through shared email account and populating all relevant details onto an excel document Tracker


• Identifying the priority of each request and re-prioritise task list as deemed necessary


• Raising Purchase Orders through Ariba and manage their end-to-end administration


• Completing BACS payment request forms, ensuring that all details are correct and confirmed


• Making sure all necessary communications are made with the councils in a timely manner


• Identifying the method of payment and its required administration for each request


• Completing payments through council's online application sites


• Receiving calls from and making calls to councils paying for traffic management services required


• Receiving invoices and confirmations of costs, completing comparisons against payment requests received and querying where necessary conflicting details


• Ensuring that the excel tracker is kept up-to-date with all actions required and taken, all necessary and critical data captured accurately


• Making sure the correct cost codes are identified and applied


• Completing necessary filing of emails and documentation.

About You

You'll possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:


• Previous experience in dealing with local authorities


• Previous experience of processing payments


• Proficient user of MS Excel
