The role purpose is to oversee the accounts payable function and to be responsible for designated Finance Assistants.As part of this role you will:

- Identify training needs, support personal development and conduct annual reviews of team
- Manage the daily operations of the accounts payable team, ensuring work priorities are covered and deadlines met
- Oversee the purchase ledger system and other pay methods
- Prepare weekly supplier payment run and raise BACS and cheques payments
- Oversee and maintain the purchase invoice processing system
- Oversee the interface management between the finance system and the invoice processing system
- Investigate aged or questionable transactions and ensure they are monitored and queried
- Provide KPI information as required and analyse management information obtained to ensure the function is running efficiently
- You will have familiarity and confidence in using computer systems, in particular Excel
- You will have experience in and be competent at basic report writing
- You will have a basic understanding of accountancy principles and concepts
- You will hold GCSE Grade C or Equivalent in Maths
- Be AAT qualified, or willing to work towards an AAT qualification
- Hold a recognised leadership qualification or be willing to work towards one
