HUC is looking for a Finance Assistant to join our team in Welwyn Garden City

As a Finance Assistant you will be responsible for all of the supplier Invoices including GP's and 3rd party invoices ensuring that they are coded and processed correctly and to carry out other administration tasks for the finance department which will include supplier statements, credit control and banking transactions.

This position is for a 9 -month fixed term starting in December 2020 and you will be required to work from the office in Welwyn Garden City and from home.

37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Duties and

responsibilities:

  • Responsible for receiving and checking all invoices from GP's against the rota system. Checking and resolving any discrepancies.
  • Responsible for payments to GP's with a view to putting in place the necessary controls and checks that ensures all GP's are paid accurately and on time.
  • Responsible for ensuring the payment is made accurately and on time to NHS pensions/HMRC and any other associated costs on behalf of the GP's.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations (paid versus expected).
  • Proactive in ensuring GP's send in their invoices and solo forms and chasing outstanding ones.
  • Communications with new GP's to ensure they are set up correctly
  • Ad hoc tasks to support the finance team where required.

Skills required:

  • Previous experience working in a finance function
  • Good Excel skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to deliver to tight deadlines with Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be a team player and be prepared to work flexibly
  • Strong written and oral communication
