Financial Controller / Commercial Manager - Construction
£50000 / 60000 plus benefits
You will report directly to the Directors This group has an annual turnover of circa £25M
This company undertakes projects in Europe and the USA and some travel will be required.
You will be responsible for the day to day financial activities within a forward thinking and high growth business, ensuring financial data is well organised and accurate financial and managerial reports are produced.
You will provide pro-active support and a high quality service to multiple stakeholders ensuring the work streams are able to operate seamlessly.
Start Date: ASAP
Responsibilities include:
* Management of the finance function inclusive of the preparation of the full monthly financial and management accounts
* Daily and monthly cash flow planning
* Preparation of the monthly P&L, balance sheet, and forecast
* Timely preparation of the monthly report package
* Ad hoc analysis on request of the CD and senior management team
* Coordination of the annual budget process
* Liaising with the operational managers on e.g. the valuation of the work in process to produce monthly management accounts, providing commentary to senior management on significant variances
* Timely production of statutory and internal financial reports
* Provide variances analysis from budget, identify added-value reporting opportunities for trend analysis and commentary to assist forecasting and budgeting requirements
* Involvement in group projects
* Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
* Payroll Management
* Preparation of VAT returns
* Ensuring compliance to UK rules and regulations
Requirements for the role:
* The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant, who is looking to take the next step in his or her career
* You will have experience with both management and financial reporting
* You will have commercial acumen and a good eye for detail, coupled with a strong academic background
* You must have excellent interpersonal skills and strong all round accounting skills
* You will require excellent communication skills and have the ability to liaise with both finance and non-finance individuals
* Computer literate with good Excel skills and solid understanding of accounting software principles
