Finance Assistant - Spider is advertising on behalf of a highly successful charity who uses nature to engage and support marginalised and disadvantaged individuals in their development and recovery, across East Anglia. The office is based in Lawshall, Suffolk who is looking for an experienced Finance Assistant to join their team.

As Finance Assistant, your responsibilities will be to provide support to the Finance Manager with processing of Purchase ledger invoices, Staff Expenses, and purchases made using credit and debit cards.

Other key duties include:

Maintain the Purchase Ledger on a cloud-based accounting system, including inputting all supplier transactions, expense claims, payment card transactions and petty cash, ensuring all are coded correctly, including staff expenses.
Prepare supplier and expense claim payments in line with payment policies and using online banking procedures.
Support the reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts
Under direction of Finance Manager, raise routine invoices for regular services provided to beneficiaries.
Collate information required to prepare and submit monthly claims for European Social Fund (ESF) grant funding.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills and attributes:

Relevant book-keeping or accounting qualification or qualified by relevant experience
Knowledge and experience of using cloud- based accounting software
Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Outlook and Excel. Knowledge of SharePoint an advantage
Experience of completing European Social Fund (ESF) claim documentation desirable
Well organised with excellent attention to detail
Ability to manage and prioritise workload
Proactive, adaptable, and able to work on own initiative
Effective communication skills

This Finance Assistant position is a Part- Time position. (15 hours per week, days & times flexible to suit). Due to Covid-19 all staff who are currently able to work from home are expected to do so until at least 2021. On offer is a salary of £21,000 - £24,000 pro rata (depending on experience).
