Spencer Clarke Group are working closely alongside Sutton Council to provide them a with a Pensions Accounting Manager to join their team on a Contract Basis!

Full Time

Rate - £400 to £500 per day (negotiable dependent upon experience- Please submit CV with rate Required)

This post will lead on the alignment of pension fund accounting and financial management processes and procedures across both Sutton and Kingston Councils within the Shared Finance Service. It will also lead the interface with the Shared Pensions Administration team on financial issues.

The Shared Finance Service ambition is to add value and inspire success and this role is part of the Shared Finance Service (SFS) team collectively responsible for delivering SFS activities to realise this ambition.

The role provides direct support to the Head of Pensions and may be required to deputise as required, including presenting reports to Pensions Committees and Boards. The post will work closely with the other finance teams within the Shared Finance Service, as well as the Pensions Administration team, the Teachers Pension team and other teams such as HR.

• must have accountancy qualification (she doesn't mind which but they must be a qualified accountant)
• Extensive Pension exp (ideally LGPS, but she would consider candidates with other public sector pension exp, with at least some exp in Local Authorities)
• Be able to manage to full pension process themselves
• Familiar with Ledger systems (Agresso preferably)
• Experience of accounts to trial balance
• Produce a clean audit & deal with audit queries
• Experience of producing annual reports & handling associated queries
