Our client is looking for an R&D Tax Auditor to carry out face to face senior level client meetings to identify whether or not their business has carried out Research and Development which would qualify them for a Tax refund

Although full technical training is provided in this role, it is essential that the R&D Tax Auditor has the ability to pick up and understand complex financial information in order to understand legislation relating to research and development and the complexity around UK Tax Laws

In addition to meeting with clients, the role will also require the successful candidate to create reports for submission to HMRC

This is a homebased position, and the company will provide all equipment etc necessary for this home office.

This role requires both strong analytical skills and the ability to be client facing.

Role and Responsibilities for the position of R&D Tax Auditor:

  • Business research and analysis to establish qualification for HMRC refunds
  • Meeting with clients to discuss projects that have been carried out, objectives of projects, costings and issues/solutions together with success of projects
  • Identifying if projects are suitable for R&D qualification as per HMRC legislation
  • Once evaluated, building case to prove projects meet R&D requirements
  • Ideal Candidate for the role of R&D Tax Auditor will have:

  • Attention to detail and robust organisational skills - including time management
  • Professional report writing experience (e.g. strategies, reports, briefings)
  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional and technically competent manner
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Team working skills - along with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Technical Requirements for the position:

  • Quantitative or qualitative research experience ideal
  • ACA, Tax Qualifications or AAT ideally
  • Six Sigma or Prince2
  • Association for Project Management
  • Any experience working in sectors where R&D is widespread such as manufacturing, engineering, technology, science etc
  • Full UK/EU Driving Licence
  • Excellent Salary and Bonus plus mileage expenses / phone and laptop provided / pension scheme
