Senior Accounts Payable Officer
Harpenden, Hertfordshire
£28,000 - £33,000 Depending on experience
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accountant Payable Officer to join this stable and growing business that continues to thrive and expand through first class service offerings and new product development
We are interested in speaking with candidates with at least 5 years solid Accounts Payable experience ideally within a medium to large sized business.
Working within a busy finance department reporting to the Financial Controller and with responsibility for supervising a small team of account payable clerks, duties will include;
*Supervision of a small team to include daily work schedules and development plans.
*Processing of the Supplier invoices including the coding and matching.
*Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve complex queries and provide updates.
*Oversee and complete supplier statement reconciliations.
*Resolving unallocated cash instances and ensuring accounts balance.
*Processing regular (weekly) electronic supplier payment runs - ensuring all invoices have correct approvals.
*Clearing direct debit balances.
*Working on projects to improve financial systems and workflows.
*Monitoring open AP items and the clearing of old outstanding items and debit balances.
*Complete month-end procedures, reporting and reconciliations by specified deadlines.
*Inter-company charges.
*Complete month end procedures and reporting by specified deadlines.
*Reconcile AP accounts to the General leger.
*Assist with the production of weekly cashflow summaries and periodic cash forecasts.
*Other ad-hoc duties as required.
Applicants must have:
*Significant previous Accounts Payable experience with demonstrable evidence of increased responsibility in previous roles.
*Previous experience within a sizeable and high-volume business.
*Excellent administrative and problem-solving skills.
*Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
*Attention to detail and an ability to deal effectively with a wide range of people of all levels.
