Overview

Mallard Outsourcing are proudly partnering a London-based International Non-Governmental Organisation (INGO) as they seek to add an experienced Finance Assistant to their London-based team.

Duties of the Finance Assistant include, but are not limited to the following:

* Purchase Ledger: managing the purchase ledger, maintaining the invoice register, managing authorisation of invoices, updating the accounting system, processing weekly payment runs, undertaking money transfers, responding to enquiries regarding reconciliations and controls, manage the creditors report in line with the company Financial Policy.

* Cash & Bank: manage bank accounts and internet banking functions, recording receipts and payments, carrying out monthly ban reconciliations, prepare monthly cash flow plans and reports, monitor bank balances online, manage and maintain a petty cash float.

* Staff Expenses: Checking claims, managing cash advances.

* Fixed Asset Register: Reviewing items purchases to keep fixed assets register up to date, maintain the Fixed Assets Register by calculating depreciation and disposal of assets.

* Month End Procedures & Quarterly Reviews: recording and preparing prepayment and accruals, preparing creditor analysis schedules, reporting on grants and bank balances, tracking interest earned, presenting reports to the Finance Manager.

* Statutory Accounts & Audit: assist in the preparation of annual accounts, prepare schedules for yearend audit files.

* Teamwork & Development: working as part of a team to improve the company's accounting, reporting and controls, assisting in updating finance policies and manuals, carry out new staff inductions and refresher training, learning functions carried out by colleagues to assist in the event of absence, deputise for the Finance Officer in their absence.

The requirements, skills & experience required for the Finance Assistant include, but are not limited to the following:

* Full AAT qualification or part ACCA qualification or other professional accounting body or qualified by experience.

* 2 years + of relevant experience.

* Strong knowledge of accounting and financial processes and controls.

* Strong IT skills.

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

The Remuneration & Benefits Package for the Finance Assistant is:

* £23,875 basic annual salary.
