Our client a leading engineering service provider has an exciting opportunity for a financial accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. The Financial account will responsible for financial controls compliance and ensure both internal and external obligations are met with regards to month end, taxation and statutory requirements.

Responsibilities

* Preparation, completion and review of month end accounts including group reporting and core entry

* Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of each legal entities accounting records

* Ensure compliance with finance policies and procedure within the business area

* Supporting and implementing new processes and improving current procedures including management of ICS controls

* Review the control environment with autonomy to make improvements and changes

* Assisting with the group year end and half year financial statements and associated disclosures

* VAT /Tax preparation and submission and liaise with advisors

* Preparation of statutory accounts

* Maintenance of the transfer pricing information

* Maintenance of Risks & Opportunities register / risk tool

* Overhead analysis reporting and follow up

* Approval and ownership of balance sheet recs including development of overall process

* Work with HR/Payroll for ECITB claims

* Responsible for external audit including tracking and distribution of requests and providing information where appropriate

Requirements:

The successful individual will;

* Be CIMA / ACCA qualified or QBE and overseas equivalent

* Have strong excel and systems skills

* Prior experience of using an ERP will be beneficial
