Our client a leading engineering service provider has an exciting opportunity for a financial accountant to join the team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join an organisation that is still delivering high quality engineering services and going through a continued period of growth during the current climate.
The Financial account will responsible for financial controls compliance and ensure both internal and external obligations are met with regards to month end, taxation and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
* Preparation, completion and review of month end accounts including group reporting and core entry
* Maintaining the accuracy and integrity of each legal entities accounting records
* Ensure compliance with finance policies and procedure within the business area
* Supporting and implementing new processes and improving current procedures including management of ICS controls
* Review the control environment with autonomy to make improvements and changes
* Assisting with the group year end and half year financial statements and associated disclosures
* VAT /Tax preparation and submission and liaise with advisors
* Preparation of statutory accounts
* Maintenance of the transfer pricing information
* Maintenance of Risks & Opportunities register / risk tool
* Overhead analysis reporting and follow up
* Approval and ownership of balance sheet recs including development of overall process
* Work with HR/Payroll for ECITB claims
* Responsible for external audit including tracking and distribution of requests and providing information where appropriate
Requirements:
The successful individual will;
* Be CIMA / ACCA qualified or QBE and overseas equivalent
* Have strong excel and systems skills
* Prior experience of using an ERP will be beneficial
