Hays are pleased to be supporting a small but stable manufacturing business with the recruitment of a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

Due to strategic expansion, my client is looking to bring on board an experienced and forward-thinking Accountant to join a well-established and flexible team in Droitwich.

Your new role
Reporting into a passionate Financial Controller, you will lead the day-to-day running of the finance department and be responsible for ensuring processes and controls are robust and adhered to.

Main duties and responsibilities:

• Manage the month-end process including accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations and the preparation of management reports
• Ensure that statutory reporting, tax returns and other regulatory financial requirements are met in a timely manner
• Lead the annual audit process and liaise with auditors during the preparation of the audited financial statements
• Production of budgets and forecasts
• Stock valuation and provisioning
• Improve and develop financial business processes
• Provide financial analysis to support decision-making by collecting, analysing, investigating and reporting financial data
• Oversee the credit management process
• Act as a lead contact for IT, legal and insurance advisors
• Undertake ad hoc projects and reporting as required from time to time

What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
• Previous experience in a similar role with a strong understanding of the finance function
• Manufacturing background (preferred)
• The ability to work both independently or as an effective team player
• Excellent attention to detail and able to multitask whilst meeting strict deadlines
• Strong IT skills with a comprehensive knowledge of Excel and experience working with accountancy packages (Sage 200 an advantage)
