Our client is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their SME friendly team. You will be responsible for chasing outstanding debt to the company and will play a pivotal role in the cash-flow of the organisation ensuring credit given to customers is monitored and controlled effectively.

Duties and

responsibilities:


Chasing debt by telephone, letter and email, to reduce debt and DSO
Investigating and resolving queries relating to non-payment of debts
Using Credit Safe and Atradius establish insured debt levels for credit limits
Pick up Credit Safe warnings and raise any concerns on accounts with the FD
Control (with a couple of other Finance staff), putting accounts on hold and removing from on hold depending upon debt levels/age, orders placed and receipts on Sage 200 (and a manual spreadsheet for a subsidiary account)
Allocate monies received to invoices and raise any inconsistencies with the customer
Deal with management and operational requests on credit requests - orders received
Review each debtor account at least once a quarter - top 10% monthly plus 1/3 of other accounts rotated each month
Receive credit note requests, evaluate, get authorised and raise credit notes
Update credit note log and produce a monthly report (simple extract)
Adhoc Finance reports
Liaise with factoring company
The company currently use Sage and Xero but will be transferring to SAP and knowledge of this system would be advantageousSkills and experience required:

Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Credit Controller
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is essential along
Working knowledge of Sage, Xero and SAP is desirable
Self-motivated and resilient with effective communication skills (written and verbal)
Confident, proactive and target driven individual
Numerate with a good eye for detail
Strong negotiation skills
Ability to work effectively within a team environment and support other areas when neededHours:

Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm (this will include both office and home working due to current situation regarding COVID)Salary and benefits:

£25,000
