OVERVIEW OF THE DEPARTMENT/SECTION

The Credit Strategy Group in the Risk Management Office for EMEA is responsible for developing, maintaining, communicating and enforcing the EMEA Regional Credit Policy and related risk management framework. Supporting and leading initiatives for enhancement of portfolio credit risk management in EMEA region, including developing and implementing reporting/analytical tools and methodologies that enable proactive credit risk management of the credit portfolio in EMEA. Reporting and monitoring Credit Risk exposures and credit related Risk Appetite metrics on a monthly and ad-hoc basis. This function includes EMEA Country Risk team.

The Credit Risk Control Oversight team is newly formed and will provide risk and control oversight of the End to End Credit Risk process across the Credit Risk Function in the EMEA region.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Provide full oversight assistance to the Credit Risk Control Oversight team.
  • Providing full administrative support such as providing governance packs to key forums.
  • Play a key role in the smooth running of the Credit Risk Control Oversight team across EMEA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Credit Risk Controls Oversight team with the management of the governance framework of the risk and controls environment of the End to End Credit Risk Management across the First and Second Line of Defense.
  • Assist with the oversight of the Risk and Controls in the credit risk management area which is maintained in OpenPages.
  • Assist with the thematic reviews of the Risk and Control Assessments after the completion of the third party Risk and Control Assessment project (eg. Review new parameters not covered by the upcoming first Risk and Control Assessment by the third party, extend the review of items of the third party Risk and Control Assessment etc).
  • Prepare, print and collate presentations using PowerPoint and adobe PDF.
  • Working proactively with Credit Risk Strategy Group and other risk teams to collate various committee documents and distribute around attendees - eg BRC papers.
  • Analyse risk and control data collated through oversight of the Credit Risk Control Oversight team.
  • Arrange accurate travel/meeting schedules within the correct time zones.
  • Ad hoc administrative projects as required.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Previous experience of supporting an oversight team, of preparing governance packs, and reporting.


Preferred:

  • Previous experience working in the credit risk management area.
  • Previous experience of working in the branch of the third country financial institution.
  • Previous experience working within a dynamic large financial services environment where confidentiality and professionalism is key.

Functional / Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, advanced Outlook, PowerPoint and Word for windows; intermediate excel

  • Sound administration skills, ability to multi-task effectively and to work on own initiative with minimum supervision, ability to be proactive, team player, organised and detail-oriented.

Preferred:

  • Credit risk management (some understanding on the end to end credit process) or in the operational risk management area.

Education / Qualifications:

  • Graduate level or similar work experience.
