Payroll Specialist
Payroll Specialist, 6 Month Fixed Term Contract, Up to £50,000, Milton Keynes.
Payroll Specialist Overview:
Working for a global technology led organisation the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for streamlining and improving the current payroll process. Currently there are @1000 employees that are pay rolled on a monthly basis so this role will look after improving the way payroll is currently being processed (via Workday and ADP) but also assist with the day to day payroll operations.
Typical Duties will include:
Looking at ways that payroll can be improved across the business (this includes working closely with finance and Human resources stakeholders to really understand the way that the business operates) so that the necessary improvements can be made and implemented
Maximising the ability of Workday system to ensure that it operates the best way it can and that the business is getting the best from the system
Checking to ensure that the correct information is being passed to the companies' 3rd party payroll provider (ADP) and working closely with the payroll vendor to process all payrolls for employees in the EMEA region, which represents approximate 1000+ employees and growing.
Helping oversee and taking responsibility for reviewing new hire entries, master file changes from Workday, and reconciling payroll files from the international vendor
Audit time sheets and system uploads
Assist international employees and managers with pay related issues
Responsible for processing off cycle manual payroll checks and/or ACH payroll payments
Assist with research projects and preparation of management reports as needed
Ensure controls are properly performed within the payroll process
Coordinate with external auditors to assist with quarterly and annual audits as needed
Ideal background:
Demonstrable experience of payroll process improvements (Essential)
Workday experience is preferred
Knowledge of working with payroll vendor(s) software/processes.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization both internally and externally
