Description

The successful Cost Accountant will have the following responsibilities:

• Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, assume responsibility for the Group's Cost Accounting needs.

• Reviewing and challenge processes/controls for production/inventory

• Analysis of production and spend variances

• Month-end WIP and inventory valuation to General Ledger

• Support preparation of the annual manufacturing budget

• Investigating bill of materials and production routes

• Responsible for timely and accurate development, processing and reporting of internal costing data.

• Liaison with finance, productions and operations to analyse product cost for new and existing products.

• Analysis of product cost changes and associated variance analysis.

• Highlighting issues that impact product costs.

• Periodic participation in finished goods, stores and third-party stock take.

• The timely and accurate production of stock information (weekly/period)

• Identifying the different underlying services within each service area and developing a method to track costs

• Calculating the costs for each service area and determining whether all costs are applicable to all the variations of services provided

• Creating and maintaining spreadsheets to track and report on the ongoing costs

• Providing financial support to the commercial team regarding any financial matters

• Reviewing new product and pricing proposals to ensure they meet the required business targets.

• Liaising with the Senior Team to deliver key performance metrics (e.g. pricing, sales volumes, service levels, efficiency) and supporting the delivery of strategic objectives.

• Any other relevant duties.

Profile

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACCA/ CIMA/ CA) and will have significant Cost Accounting experience within a Manufacturing sector. Strong business partnering experience and a track record of process implementation/ improvement is also required.

Job Offer

The successful candidate will be offered a salary of up to £50,000.
