Job Description

The APAC Payroll Analyst is an individual contributor role at our Kuala Lumpur office and reports to the APAC Payroll Manager. The role will be responsible for managing the payroll processing of specific countries within the APAC region which include but not limited to managing timely and accurate processing of payroll, reporting and compliance in collaboration with our external payroll vendors to deliver an exceptional employee experience and meet all of our local APAC compliance obligations and operational performance around payroll.

Success in this role involves an ability to execute nimbly in order to deliver employee experience with compliance, security and accurate reporting. The successful candidate will be equally comfortable supporting countries in the region and delivering on operations goals and process transformation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Process Weekly, Semi-Monthly and Monthly non-exempt and exempt payrolls for union and non-union employees as required.
  • Review and reconcile payroll after they have been processed. Validate confirmed reports.
  • Execute time and attendance processing and interface with payroll.
  • Keep informed of regulations, interpretations and practices pertaining to payroll accounting functions
  • Follow policies and procedures; develop and/or recommend new or revised procedures for improving overall effectiveness of payroll function
  • Prepare or assist in the preparation of periodic/special report to government agencies, tax authorities, insurance service providers, industry associations and other units of the Company as required.
  • Respond to various audit and tax agency queries and requests.
  • Process employee pay data (new hires, termination, pay changes etc)
  • Complete payroll filing and mailing as necessary.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transaction will be processed accurately and timely.
  • Process pay changes, tax changes, direct deposit changes
  • Run reports from time & attendance system and payroll system
  • Process accurately employee pay for items including special payments and retro payments.
  • Responsible for processing wage garnishments, liens, in accordance with federal and state laws.
  • Researches, analyzes and resolves payroll related problems or questions by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Communicate with employees and other departments to answer questions and resolve problems.
  • Maintains employees' confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as requested.

  • Qualifications:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • At least 2-3 years' experience in HR. Prior experience in payroll preferred. Experience with payroll for countries in APAC an added advantage.
  • Experience with ADP Global View, Streamline or Celergo payroll solutions is preferred.
  • Good computer skills with proficiency in excel is a must.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under independently.
  • Excellent customer service mindset and skills.
  • Attention to detail, well-developed written and communication skills in English.
