Interim Accountant / Business Support Analyst

Working from home (must be UK based)

6 month contract - early October start

We have an opportunity for a qualified accountant to join this niche service provider. This is a 6 month contract, starting early October, so you do need to be available at short notice.

Role Overview

Providing support to the Finance Business Partner who works directly with the Executive Director and their team. You will be responsible for providing financial analysis, month end reporting and business planning. This is a varied and challenging role supporting the department during an important period of change.

Responsibilities

• Understand the business. Working closely with the wider business to understand the key drivers, challenges and how to best support them with commercial insight and analysis.
• Overseeing the capital spend for maintenance, refits and projects.
• Challenge the business and ask the right questions.
• Build relationships and influence.
• Provide commercial insight, financial support to enable decision making and quickly become a trusted advisor.
• Lift the numbers and make them more meaningful by bringing them to life.

Key Role Deliverables

• Close Month end
• Ensure the integrity of financial results
• Work to strict deadlines.
• Provide insightful monthly reporting pack for the executive team, tracking performance against business plan and budget
• Business planning and expeniture reporting
• Planning Forecast updates
• Quarterly business review
• Cost centre management
• Project accounting, from inception/business case through to tracking and reporting on spend.

Qualifications, skills and experience

• Qualified Accountant
• Immediately available
• Ideally local (although the role is working from home)
• Experience in a similar finance business partner role (prior project accounting is an advantage)
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills, influencing and building relationships with finance colleagues within a positive environment of professional development and success
