Salary:
£45,000-£50,000 + Benefits


This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a leading organisation in South Manchester.

In this key role the Payroll Manager will oversee and manage the contractor pay and bill function. Ensuring that payroll queries are escalated by the team and resolved while still remaining 'hands-on' operationally to facilitate a smooth running of the payroll functions.


Responsibilities include


  • Review current Payroll operations and create a forward looking strategy for operating and delivery model
  • Responsibility for change management within the function
  • Ensure contractors are paid on time every week in this business critical function
  • Responsible for management and development of a team of 3-4 FTE with potential to grow.
  • Keeping abreast of legislative changes affecting payroll compliance
  • Review and maintain all payroll policies and procedures in line with compliance and SOX requirements.
  • Calculate funds required to pay HMRC and communicate accordingly to accounts department
  • Co-ordinate housekeeping and maintenance of contractor payroll system
  • Accurate setup and timely maintenance of contractor and client details
  • xplore wider payroll solutions that can benefit or are required to support the group's growth ambitions


The successful candidate


  • Recruitment industry experience and/or experience with weekly Pay and Bill is highly desirable
  • A solid leader with the ability to motivate and drive a team.
  • A strong communicator, dedicated and thorough, able to communicate to all levels within the business.
  • Organised, ability to meet deadlines in an orderly manner and strong detail orientation.
  • Successful problem solving experience with complex system environments
  • Reliable with integrity and a strong awareness of customer service
  • Ideally CIPP qualified or working towards
  • Knowledge of Tempest would be ideal !
