Homebase's finance team are seeking a Payroll Manager to lead their team of Payroll administrators.

What can you expect from this role?

Your main focus within this role will be on supporting your team and enabling them to successfully undertake a wide range of day to day activities.

Your team (of 9 including yoruself) are tasked with ensuring the efficient, compliant and accurate running of the national Payroll for both Head Office and Regional team members (5,500 heads in total) so this is a hugely visible role throughout the business.

Key to your success will be ensuring yourself and your team are able to build strong relationships with both internal partners and external customers such as HMRC and council authorities, among others. While you will be ensuring the successful completion or current process your team and the wider business will look to you for guidance in the ongoing development and simplification of these processes. Overall this role offers an opportunity to make a genuine impact to the business and all of it's team members.

Required Knowledge

It is essential that the successful candidate have experience of leading a payroll team for a large payroll. In this extremely visible role you must be confident when liaising with senior stakeholders throughout the business as well as being able to demonstrate the required HR and PAYE legislative knowledge to deal with related matters efficiently. Candidates who are AAT or CIPP qualified are preferred but this is not essential.
