ABOUT THIS JOB

The intern role is a critical position within the team. The successful candidate will be given real responsibility for a number of accountant activities including month end closing and for accounts payable tasks including quality checks for offshore processing workflow, query resolution, payment requests and user training. Support and training is provided throughout. We expect you to take the opportunity this role presents to be a fully involved and contributing member of the finance team in a dynamic multi-national environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Payment initiation.

* Accounts payable compliance and workflow management, checking and submission of compliant invoices for offshore processing, resolving exceptions with vendors and business contacts as required.

* Accounts Payable issue resolution, including running weekly review meetings with controllers and key stakeholders.

* Accounts payable statement reconciliation for Key vendors, working with our vendors to ensure critical accounts are kept on an accurate and timely basis.

* Month end reporting, including preparation of monthly journals and underlying calculations for selected tasks, plus supporting the submission of figures to corporate for consolidation and the associated reporting.

* Cash flow tracking and reporting.

* Intercompany recharge process.

* General ledger account reconciliation, including provision of supporting documentation and compliance reviews of completed reconciliation of selected accounts.

* External audit, assisting with the preparation of selected schedules for audit and response to requests for information made by both internal and external auditors.

* Preparation of Visitor tracking and various National statistics returns for UK Government reporting.

* Record keeping/management in compliance with statutory requirements.

A LITTLE ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will work within the UK finance function, specifically as a key member of the local general accounting team (EFS) and reporting to an Associate Operational Controller within the team. The team is responsible for the integrity of the financial accounting and related compliance matters for the majority of the UK domiciled businesses. These responsibilities cover areas such as internal reporting, balance sheet integrity, banking, accounts payable and external reporting (audits, financial statements, taxation and other government reporting).

QUALIFICATIONS

* Student or an absolvent in finance and/or accounting

* Fluency in English is required

* Basic SAP knowledge

* G-suite & Microsoft package (Excel, Power Point, Word)

* Ability to work well within a team, as well as independently

* Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
