We are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Officer to join our small friendly Head Office team based in Pendeford, Wolverhampton.

The payroll officer position requires candidates that can multi-task, have excellent communication skills and an upbeat attitude.Candidates should be able to assist management and all visitors to the company by providing polite and professional assistance via phone, e-mail and excellent interpersonal skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy. They should always be prepared and responsive and willing to meet each challenge directly.

This payroll officer role presents an exciting opportunity to take on an important role in our company. Put your administration experience and knowledge to use whilst supporting our finance team to ensure all staff are paid correctly. You will play an essential role in the success of our business by ensuring that we meet all Employment Compliance requirements for the company. This position comes with the potential of further career development as well as interesting and satisfying professional challenges

You will work directly within the finance and recruitment function; your duties will include but are not limited to;


• Input data to our payroll software


• Ensuring employees are paid on a timely and accurate basis, ensuring all deadlines are met in line with the schedules


• Calculating holiday pay, reviewing payroll files, SSP/SMP calculations


• Process calculations and payments for NIC/PAYE and pensions ensuring data is updated to deadlines


• Dealing with questions/queries/complaints from employees regarding their pay and how it has been calculated

The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience:


• A good educational background, and previous experience in Payroll is a must along with experience of using Sage Payroll


• Strong IT skills and advanced Excel skills are essential


• Good organizational skills.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


• Ability to plan your own workload and meet deadlines.


• Discretion and an understanding of confidentiality issues.


• Able to work well as part of a team.


• Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
