Division Overview

At Calypso, R&D comprises of Development, Product Management, Quality Assurance and Architecture and Infrastructure teams working towards delivering a powerful yet flexible technology platform keeping the needs of end customer in mind. Our Development teams ensure that all code is delivered to clients with a highest quality. Product managers are a home of technical and capital market experts who work together to design and build of our software and product roadmap whereas our QA team is constantly aimed at enhancing the quality of our platform delivery through test methodologies for implementations, upgrades and migrations.

Team And Role Overview

The Director of Calypso Financial Products, reporting to the Global Head of Product Management, will be the product leader for Calypso's Financial Products offering to a diverse client base. You'll be joining a team of industry experts located across London, New York and Mumbai. This position will include people management of three direct reports, with scope to increase to four.

Responsibilities

• Product Leadership
  
  • Drive the Calypso strategy and roadmap for Front Office Financial Products; effectively determine the business requirements for our existing and future Calypso Financial Products covering Pricing, Trade Lifecycle, and Analytics.
  • Manage and Mentor a team of product professionals to define and prioritize Financial Products that provide measurable value to Calypso's clients while also addressing dependencies with other functional streams (e.g. FO-Tools, Market Data, Middle and Back office).
  • Provide direction and mentor a dedicated team of R&D professionals (Development, Financial Engineering, and QA)
  • Build effective processes and metrics for success; facilitate standards for the Calypso Financial Products roadmap in line with the overall Calypso Product Roadmap and direction of the organization.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to ensure that development plans, resources, and customer delivery strategies are coordinated in a cohesive fashion.
  • Provide facts-based competitive analysis to ensure that offerings provide superior capabilities when compared to the competition and are meeting and anticipating the needs of the customer.

• Product Design, Development & Go-To-Market Delivery
  
  • Identify product requirements (including build, buy and partner decisions) and develop Financial Products solutions that offer an outstanding client experience leveraging a deep understanding of pricing / analytical requirements including broader regulatory requirements such as Libor Reform.
  • Close collaboration with Financial Engineering to build new pricing models and enhancing existing ones
  • Ensure that requirements for Risk and Treasury Analytics developed in the Middle Office (Enterprise Risk, XVA/CVA, Forward Ladder) are fully incorporated into Financial Product Design
  • Incorporate back office dependencies in Financial Product Design
  • Based on market demand, develop business cases for new asset class support (e.g. Loans, ETFs, Private Asset Classes) and present to the Product Review Board to obtain investment signoff
  • Provide insights into clients' needs and understand exactly how they will use Financial Products within their workflow so that we build the appropriate FO-Tools.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Market Strategy and Sales to ensure that relevant Go-to-Market (GTM) plans such as for Libor Reform are appropriately defined and executed
  • Act as a senior product advocate in client meetings to support Sales and Market Strategy to achieve commercial revenue targets.
• Product Implementation
  
  • Support the development of product implementation methods, effectively integrate Calypso Financial Products into the workflow of an organization or end-user.
  • Ensure internal training of Sales, Customer Delivery, and Support teams covering all of Calypso's Financial Products
  • Collaborate with Customer Delivery to ensure that client implementations are successful

Requirements

• At least 15 years of professional experience within the Treasury and Capital Markets space, ideally at a vendor of Capital Market and Treasury solutions.
• Breath of pricing and analytical knowledge across multiple major asset classes namely FI, Rates, Credit, FX, Equities, and Commodities. Depth of knowledge and ideally trading experience in at least one major asset class (FI/Rates preferably)
• Specific expertise in Front Office workflow and/or software development is preferred
• Strong technical and commercial acumen and someone who can easily switch between these modes with deep appreciation of how one influences the other as part of software development and go-to-market decision making.
• Excellent people management skills with proven success in motivating, mentoring, and creating environment where the best talent wants to be.

• Must be a strong collaborator used to coordinating and influencing peers across functional lines
