What are we looking for?

We are looking for an AAT qualified accountant with at least 2, ideally 3, years experience in an Accountancy practice.


The opportunity

The Vacancy

Role: Practice Accountant (ACA training available)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Holidays: 23 days + bank holidays



Salary:
£18k-£22k per annum depending on experience, plus bonus scheme

Pension and benefits: 5% employer pension, medical insurance and death in service cover

Place of work: MJH Office and at Client's premises when required


Job description

  • Preparation of annual accounts for all sizes of businesses / charities
  • Preparation of management accounts at monthly / quarterly intervals for growing clients
  • Preparation of VAT returns using the various different scheme available
  • Preparation of Corporation tax and Income tax computations and returns
  • To undertake book-keeping work for clients and the firm


Job specification

Essential credentials

  • AAT qualified (or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years, ideally 3, experience in an Accountancy practice
  • 5 GCSEs @ Grades 4 - 9 (or equivalent) including Grade 6 or above in Maths and English
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Xero, Quickbooks and Practice Accounting software (ideally Digita)
  • The ability to work as part of a team and supervise junior staff
  • The ability to work with minimum supervision, using own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Enthusiasm and Adaptability


Desirable credentials

  • A Level qualified (or equivalent)
