Alongside thier taxation services the firm offers accounting, audit, insolvency, due diligence and consulting services. The Role


As an Audit Manager you will be responsible for managing and reviewing the audit process of clients' financial records from planning through to completion, reporting directly to the Responsible Individual.


The applicant would need to ensure they were constantly up-to-date with auditing standards and any changes in the auditing profession, passing this information on to other members of the team through regular update sessions. The role would also involve the preparation and/or review of financial statements and corporation tax computations.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • To conduct assigned audit engagements successfully from planning to completion. This includes but is not limited to:
  • evaluating and understanding internal control systems and procedures;
  • identifying significant audit risks and designing suitable audit tests to provide sufficient assurance that they do not lead to a material misstatement;
  • testing documentation to support account balances or transactions and investigating any variances identified;
  • designing and implementing relevant analytical review procedures including the gathering, checking and analysing of data;
  • To act as the main point of contact with the client throughout the assignment, responding to their needs and managing their expectations.
  • Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns.
  • Preparation of financial statements under UK GAAP;
  • Planning and organising own client portfolio, including allocation of workload and resources.
  • Monitoring progress of assignments to ensure they are completed in a timely and efficient manner, on budget and in accordance with client expectations.


Key Skills and Abilities


  • A minimum on 2 years post qualification experience working in audit.
  • Ability to observe and understand business processes.
  • Ability to apply audit standards through practical application.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP. (Knowledge of IFRS would be useful but not essential).
  • Practical knowledge of the preparation of group accounts.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines / client expectations.
  • Ability to lead and work as part of team.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and social skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and specialist finance packages. Knowledge of Caseware AuditAdvanced and CCH Accounts Production useful but not essential.
