We create the strategies that help businesses grow

Innovative technology, new competitors and ever-changing financial markets. These are some of the things shaping the future of our industry. In Finance, we analyse these changes to understand their impact, and share our insights with customers and business partners across the UK. Our advice helps them to plan for the future and build strategies that protect their business, which is a big part of our Group’s purpose of helping Britain prosper.

is our Finance Internship for you?

Are you motivated by challenging projects and keen to make career-building connections? If you are, you could enjoy a Finance internship.

Our Finance teams are made up of people with different backgrounds and diverse skills. They’re analytically minded, resilient and trusted specialists who strive to see things in a different light. By analysing data and building strong client relationships, they help create strategies that transform and improve businesses, across the UK.

If you’re curious about how we do this and are excited to learn, this internship could be right for you.

What you'll learn as a Finance Intern

Over 10 weeks, you’ll see how our work in Finance underpins strategic and financial decisions made within the Group, and the impact your work can have on the future of British business.

You’ll learn about Finance’s core purpose, who our customers are, and the ways we’re committed to helping colleagues and communities to thrive and succeed. You could work on projects that teach you about partnering with other business areas, about our products and services, or how to analyse complex sets of data to gain insights – and much more. You’ll also have opportunities to grow a diverse network of colleagues and contacts, and see where you can add value to our teams.

On a summer internship, you could be...

  • Developing technical and analytical skills so you can contribute to projects that inform real business decisions
  • Building relationships and networking with people across the business, including other interns, graduates, line managers and more
  • Shadowing people from areas outside of Finance to learn how we work together to achieve great results
  • Sharing and presenting your ideas of how our processes could be improved to senior managers

What you need to apply

No matter what subject you’re studying, if you’re in your penultimate year of university, enjoy collaborating and want to share your ideas, we’d like to hear from you.

Locations

Our Finance Internships are based in one of our UK offices including London, Bristol, Leeds and Edinburgh.

Eligibility to work

At Lloyds Banking Group we value and actively seek a diverse workforce. If you wish to make an application and are successful for our Graduate or Undergraduate Schemes, it is essential that you have the right to work in the UK at the date of commencement. We will ask you questions about your current status through the application process and check right to work documents before you join. At that time, we will have full Government guidance on the new immigration system.

The UK immigration system for Skilled Workers and International Graduates is changing with effect from 1 January 2021; these new rules will be relevant to Graduates and Undergraduates joining the 2021 Schemes. All applicants are assessed on their skills and abilities. We will discuss right to work and, if necessary, sponsorship by Lloyds Banking Group under the new Skilled Worker route with those applicants that are successful in reaching the final stages of the process.  At that time, we will have the full details of the new immigration system available to us. Sponsorship is subject to all the appropriate criteria specified by UK Visas & Immigration, being satisfied. Lloyds Banking Group is unable to offer a guarantee that an application for a Skilled Worker visa to the UK Visas & Immigration will be successful.

EU nationals that are residents in the UK before the end of 2020 can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme for settled or pre-settled status which will give right to work on the Graduate and Undergraduate Schemes.  Applicants that are not resident before the end of 2020, or do not meet the criteria for the EU Settlement Scheme, will need to consider right to work options.
