JOB TITLE - General Ledger Accountant.

SALARY - 18,000 - 22,000 Euros

LOCATION - Porto, Portugal

REPORTS TO

Reports Directly to the General Ledger Accountant Team Leader.

JOB SUMMARY

  • The accountant will be the key support contact for the centre and local in term of supporting the general ledger activities.
  • The accountant will be responsible for the maintenance of the accounts, P&L and balance sheet by country assigned.
  • The accountant will work closely with the GL Team Leader to drive the efficiency of the financial activities.
  • The accountant will be involved (directly or indirectly) in the transition of additional accounting activities from the country into the Centre of Excellence.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare journal and load into Oracle.
  • Checking for completeness of the posting.
  • Analyse the accounts movements and propose period end adjustment entries.
  • Reconciliation of accounts on monthly basis.
  • Upload accounting figures into HFM consolidation tool
  • Owner to open and close the period in Oracle
  • Generate standard set of report, e.g. financial statement
  • Generate additional requested reports
  • Prepare reports for management
  • Support the country local finance with Audit reports required
  • Support tax filing for the country assigned
  • Support the other team members with financial transitions into centre
  • Assist in ad hoc reports and projects as required by Head of Regional Finance SSC or European Project managers

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Academic accounting degree (or similar) or professional qualification
  • 2-5 years of working experience in accounting/finance area
  • The experience should be in multinational, ideally working for different countries in Shared services Environment
  • Participation in transition of finance activities into a shared services environment will be an advantage
  • Certified Accountant (registered in OTOC) will be an advantage

CORE COMPETENCIES

Technical/Skill

  • Experience in using Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Analytical / problem solver
  • Experience in Oracle Finance system will be an advantage

Soft skill (desirable)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and meticulous
  • Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to work and deliver results within agreed timeline.
  • Attention-to-details, and diligent.
  • Ability to work with multi-cultural environment.
  • A good understanding of process improvement that can improve customer experience, service quality and efficiency
  • Good communication skills - fluent in spoken & written English.
  • Any other language will be an advantage
