Salary:
£15,000 for 22.5 hours per week (£25,000 pro rata) Days and hours to be agreed. Some evening and weekend work may be required. Closing date: 9 a.m. Monday 12 October. Interviews will be held week commencing 19 October. Comrie Development Trust (CDT) is looking for a Finance Officer who will be responsible for ensuring all aspects of the CDT finance and funding, including any trading subsidiary, are effectively executed.

Responsibilities:
To work as part of the CDT Staff Team to ensure that all aspects of the CDT finance and funding, including any trading subsidiary, are effectively executed. Tasks: Ensure that all financial information relating to CDT activities and projects is maintained to best practice standards Ensure CDT day to day financial transactions including; bank reconciliations, invoicing, payments, petty cash, pensions, banking, payroll functions and VAT are accurately processed Ensure any invoicing and payment queries are effectively dealt with. Provide accurate bookkeeping and maintain the accounting system, currently Quick Books Online Supervise the finance and claims inputs of any Accounts / Admin Support Worker / Outsourced Finance Inputs Ensure that grant claims relating to the CDT are prepared and submitted to the required standard as and when required including; preparing the financial elements of claims, completing narrative reports relating to finance and collating narrative and monitoring reports Produce management accounts, reports with budget comparisons and variances as per requests from the CDT Board, CDT Treasurer and CDT Working Groups Prepare, monitor and review the CDT budgets for the CDT Treasurer and CDT Board as required. Provide financial modelling of CDT activities and projects for the CDT Treasurer and CDT Board as required Ensure, with the Treasurer, that CDT financial processes comply with statutory requirements Ensure that all the year-end functions on the accounts are completed and arrange for them to be audited on time Further develop CDT finance systems as the CDT develops. Undertake any other reasonable tasks requested by the CDT Treasurer and CDT Board. Skills and Qualifications: Well educated with appropriate qualifications in financial accounting and/or book-keeping, or qualified by experience in which case work experience longer than two years will be required Knowledge of one or more computerised accounting packages, e.g. Quick Books Knowledge and experience of relevant IT systems Knowledge of not-for-profit organisations or small companies with multiple income streams, including grants, loan finance, self-generated income and donations. Good organisation and communication skills Analytical approach, highly numerate and literate Key competencies: Accuracy in producing customised reports to deadlines Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Planning, organizing and decision-making Skills in communication, influencing and leading Friendly and with willingness to answer enquiries Ability to work on own Flexible approach and willingness to undertake occasional evening and weekend work.
