This role

The Assistant Systems Accountant role will help to maintain the financial systems and interfaces which support the production of the accounts. This will include Oracle Financials, Asset 4000, reporting systems such as Hubble and systems used in the Transaction teams.The role will be responsible for ensuring the systems are fit for purpose and meet the user requirements. In addition the post-holder will be responsible for ensuring staff are using the systems efficiently and effectively.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Experience of working on systems in a large organisation

  • Experience of preparing either financial or management accounts

  • Understanding of the General Ledger

  • Understanding of the construction of a Chart of Accounts

  • Experience of using Oracle Financials

  • Analytic skills with a good eye for detail

  • Experience of working with query languages such as sql

  • An affinity with the work of the social housing / care sector
