The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is the estate expert for Defence, supporting the armed forces to enable military capability by planning, building, maintaining, and servicing infrastructure.

Our responsibilities include:


• Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment

• Provide utilities services

• Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering)

• Provide a safe place to train

• Allocate Service Families Accommodation

• Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair

• Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning

• Act as steward of the Defence estate

• Provide the unarmed guarding service

Job description

The Challenge

The Finance Business Partner (BP) Assistant Head (AH) is responsible for the strategic financial management of $1.8Bn+ of a varied and complex construction programme in support of United States forces based in the UK. If you have a challenging mind and are keen to be a valuable part of a Senior Management Team providing an expert financial management service and tackling all aspects of financial support to a unique customer, then this role will provide all that and more.

The UIP manages the United States Visiting Forces Infrastructure Programme (UIP) on behalf of DIO Budget Holder (DIO CFO). The role supports the management of key finance processes, including In-Year Management, the Annual Budgeting Cycle and Approvals. The role also provides UIP business partnering services and financial data to 1* Hd UIP and will form part of the UIP Senior Management Team. They will be accountable for ensuring their team adhere and conform with all agreed processes and operating procedures.

The Finance Business Partner (BP) Assistant Head (AH) is responsible for the provision of a financial management service in respect of the United States Visiting Forces Infrastructure Programme (UIP) to DIO retained funding Budget Holder (DIO CFO) for both RDEL and CDEL. The role supports the management of key finance processes, including In-Year Management, the Annual Budgeting Cycle and Approvals. The role also provides UIP business partnering services and financial data to 1* Hd UIP and will form part of the UIP Senior Management Team. They will be accountable for ensuring their team adhere and conform with all agreed processes and operating procedures. The UIP role is the single point of contact for all strategic financial management of the approximate $1.8Bn RDEL Programme expenditure managed by UIP.
