What you'll be doing

We're looking for an Assistant Management Accountant on a 6 month contract basis in Basingstoke. The Assistant Management Accountant plays a crucial role in the overall performance of GAME Retail Ltd. This ranges from robust month end closure, annual budget/forecast planning, insightful performance reporting & analysis to quality decision support. Working within a small team, the Assistant Management Accountant will ensure accuracy and integrity of the Management Accounts, producing reports to assist the business with insightful reporting, analysis to support decision making. In addition, the Assistant Management Accountant will support the Retail management team with regular and ad hoc reporting to aid decision making and cost control.

  • Preparation and managing the budget and forecast models
  • Prepare budget and forecast MSBI load files
  • Month end postings and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Month end P&L reporting
  • Create and Manage of operational P&Ls for stores - being first point of contact with Regional and Divisional Management stakeholders
  • Contribute towards the preparation of monthly management accounts and finance reporting pack
  • Production of weekly and monthly staff payroll cost analysis
  • Collaboration with Operational teams and relevant business partners to answer any queries
  • Monthly meetings with key stakeholders to review costs against budgets & forecasts
  • Provide support for the Operational team
    • Budgeting & Forecasting P&L, controllable costs, other central costs
    • Weekly & Periodic reporting
    • Ad-hoc analysis
    • Decision support to the Retail management team
