INVIGOR8 Consultants are delighted to announce we are now working with an extremely successful and well-established company based in Oxford, seeking an VAT Manager.

This role is to lead and manage the Firm's VAT advisory services provided to both existing clients and on new assignments/ projects.

Role - VAT Manager

Salary - £45,000 - £65,000

Hours - 37.5 hours a week (Monday - Friday)

Location - Oxford

Responsibilities of the VAT Manager:

  • Take lead role in providing VAT Advisory Services directly to existing clients
  • Leading and collaboratively project managing client vat focused assignments across service trams.
  • Contributing to the development of consultancy work/projects for the firm as a whole and cross-selling to other departments.
  • Assisting colleagues with general VAT advice to clients - including input in respect of valued critical vat compliance services such as VAT registration and VAT returns.
  • Actively responsible for all commercial aspects of vat work undertaken and optimising financial outcomes.
  • Management of risk to the firm in respect of VAT issues.
  • Proactively leading VAT business development initiatives and winning new business for the firm with the support of our BD team.
  • Updating client base in informing them of new developments in VAT matters
  • Providing training for staff in respect of VAT
  • Contributing positively to the development of professional relationships both internally and externally with a key objective of creating new VAT project opportunities

Requirements of the VAT Manager:

  • Take a genuine interest in our clients and have a desire to put them first.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to effectively work and communicate with a variety of colleagues in different service teams from trainee to partner levels.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in approach to a range of appropriate tasks/projects and people
  • Demonstrate strong skills to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Have strong communication skills to interact with others externally both professional contacts and clients.
  • Possess good time management skills and have the ability to adapt to changing conditions to meet deadlines.
  • Accounting knowledge will be a benefit, an eye for detail and IT literacy.
  • Demonstrate good judgement of risk and be commercially minded.
  • Be a team player that is willing to motivate and development junior staff and contribute to team meetings.

Experience and Qualifications for the VAT Manager:

  • Essential - a proven track record of professional experience in providing vat advisory services
  • Essential - very good client relationship skills
  • Required - proven project management and collaborative leadership skills
  • Preferred - appropriate qualifications
  • Desired - wider indirect knowledge including Stamp Duty
