Audit & Accounts Supervisor

Up to £57,000 pa (Depending on Experience)

AJ Chambers are working with a successful firm in Barnet, Hertfordshire who are looking to recruit an Audit / Accounts Supervisor with excellent opportunities to progress further to a managerial role and then partnership.

The role will include audit, statutory accounts preparation, management accounts, as well as other general services. You should be able to manage the whole audit process and will have responsibility for an audit from planning stages through to finalisation, including the supervision of staff assigned to you.

responsibilities:

• To ensure that the assignment is undertaken in accordance with the pre-assignment instructions, and to carry out the more rigorous aspects of the assignment efficiently, thoroughly, and in accordance with the firm's procedures.
• To communicate any problems in complying with these instructions, or any contentious issues identified, to the assignment manager immediately, identifying and commenting upon the possible solutions
• To act as the day-to-day point of contact for the client, and to practice the principles of excellent client service at all times.
• To ensure Assurance quality at all times. Assist with internal and external quality assurance, ensuring any actions are completed in line with the firms and professional standards.
• To maintain an awareness of the firm's specialist services and publications. Ensure added value to clients.
• To provide an adequate briefing, supervision and "on the job" training for trainee staff.
• To review work completed by trainee staff for adequacy and completeness, and to undertake job appraisal interviews.

What will you need to be successful in this role?

• Qualified ACA or ACCA
• Minimum of 3 years of working in a practice
• Ability to prepare financial statements to a high quality under FRS 102
• Ability to lead, plan and complete audits - for businesses with turnovers up to and above £35m
• Car driver
• Preparation of consolidated group accounts

Also Desirable but not essential:

• Ability to carry out SAR's (Solicitor Accounting Rules).
• Experience in the preparation of Charity accounts.
