An exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager as arisen to support our major events and Ascot Racecourse team. As a member of the management team for this prestigious portfolio of contracts, the successful candidate will be an operationally focused, robust finance professional who can deliver a rigorous control environment, provide insight driven reporting and act as an effective business partner to the operational teams.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving innovation, continuous improvement and a "one team" approach in the finance function, as well as improving employee engagement and stakeholder satisfaction.

This role is primarily based at Ascot Racecourse and the on-site locations during various events, however home working is possible on occasion and frequent travel/overnight stays will be required, particularly over summer months.

Job DescriptionUp to £50,000 + flexible benefit fund + bonus

Main Responsibilities
Production of accurate and timely management accounts with evidence to support variances in expected results
Accurate, timely and frequent reporting of the financial performance of the contracts
Demonstrate accountability & reconciliation of revenue / bank account / deposit IT systems
Along with operation leads, compile, understand, challenge and review P&L forecasts and budgets as required
Establishing effective relationships with operational managers to maximise influencing ability, ensure operational teams have a robust understanding of their financial responsibility, and the impact their decisions have
Demonstration of understanding contract key drivers through improved reporting
Conducting and conclude any audit activity and delivery of action plans
Management of the control environment (process & procedures)
Motivating and engaging your teams to ensure they are fully connected to operations and relevant stakeholdersThe Ideal CandidateEssential

Part or fully CIMA qualified accountant, or qualified by experience
Desirable to have experience of high-volume retail and cash environment
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership of team members
Clearly identifiable influencing skills, with the ability to effectively manage stakeholders and conflicting priorities
Strong relationship management skills; effective in building and maintaining win-win business partner relationships internally and with clients
Experience in operational and financial controls and continuous improvementDesirable

Working knowledge of accounting systems such as SAP and Essbase or other large accounting, reservation or EPoS I.T. systems
Experience of working in high-volume stadia/major/public events
